Introduce the background, history and vision of the Chamber of Commerce.

The UAE Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (abbreviated as CGCC) is an independent legal entity registered in the UAE. It was jointly initiated and established by many overseas Chinese communities in the UAE. The first president is Mr. Tang Zhengang.

CGCC aimic and trade cooperation, promote Sino-Arab cultural exchanges, actively fulfill social responsibilities, enhance the influence of Chinese businessmen in the UAE, serve as a bridge and link between Sino-Arab industry and commerce, and make positive contributions to the in-depth exchanges, close cooperation and win-win development between China and the UAE in the fields of economy, trade and humanities.

So far, there are more than 100 member units, covering multiple fields, including new energy, artificial intelligence, high technology, energy conservation and environmental protection, new agriculture, new materials, manufacturing, medical, petrochemical, construction, decorative materials, commerce, catering and other industries.

Member companies have successfully integrated into the local social and economic development, and some have developed into well-known local multinational companies.

Mission

To gather the wisdom of overseas Chinese businessmen, build new platforms, explore new opportunities, open up new situations, enhance the influence of Chinese businessmen in the UAE, and promote the long-term and stable development of friendship between China and the UAE.

Goal

Adhering to the purpose of “unity, communication, expansion and service”, to provide a new platform for communication, cooperation and development for Chinese businessmen in the UAE.

Functions

Organize members to exchange and share information; assist members in communication and contact with Chinese and Arab government departments, relevant institutions, enterprises and institutions; assist members in solving difficulties and problems encountered in the process of doing business in the UAE; express their wishes and suggestions to the UAE government and relevant departments on behalf of members; provide members with necessary policy consultation, legal aid and other services.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UAE has a clear and strict organizational structure, and each authority has a clear meeting cycle and resolution effectiveness regulations.
Among them, the Members’ Representative Assembly is the highest authority of the Chamber of Commerce, composed of all members, and is convened and organized by the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee is the executive body of the Members’ Representative Assembly. During the closed session, it exercises its powers on behalf of the Members’ Representative Assembly, carries out daily work, and is responsible for the Members’ Representative Assembly.
The Executive Committee is composed of the President, Executive President, Chief Supervisor, and Secretary General. The Supervisory Board is on par with the Executive Committee and supervises the decisions of the Chamber of Commerce.
The Executive Committee consists of the Secretariat, Finance Department, Legal Department, Publicity Department, Project Cooperation Department, Event Planning and Execution Department, External Affairs Department, Youth Committee, and Public Welfare Department.

The Executive Committee has a secretariat to assist the daily operations of the management and other departments, and is responsible for providing administrative support, including document and archive management, meeting arrangements and records, information transmission and communication, management and coordination, etc.

Mainly responsible for managing and supervising the financial activities of the organization. Including forecasting and planning of income, expenditure, investment and funding needs. The main tasks include accounting and calculation, fund management, tax management, etc.

Responsible for handling legal affairs and legal risks. Its work covers legal consultation, contract management, litigation handling, intellectual property management, compliance monitoring, corporate governance, and legal training.

It is the department in the organization responsible for planning and executing publicity activities. Its main responsibilities include: publicity construction, market promotion, media relations, online publicity, event planning, copywriting and crisis public relations of the China-Arab General Association.

It is responsible for managing and executing projects. Its main functions cover project negotiation, planning, formation, execution, supervision, resource management, risk management, communication and coordination, quality management, cost control, progress tracking and project closing, etc., providing all-round support and guarantee for the organization’s project implementation and the goal of supporting the association with business.

It is responsible for organizing and implementing various activities. Including event planning, supplier and venue coordination, publicity and promotion, crisis management and other aspects, providing all-round support and guarantee for the successful holding of activities.

It is the department that handles external relations and affairs. Its main responsibilities include: external relationship management and internal government relationship maintenance.

Mainly under the framework of international exchanges and cooperation, it uses domestic and foreign resources to provide resources and guarantees for the internationalization and international exchanges of the China-Arab General Association.

It represents the voice of youth and organizes youth activities. Committed to promoting the development of young people, enhancing their sense of participation and social responsibility, contributing the voice of young people to the UAE-China General Chamber of Commerce, and promoting the sustainable development of society.

Definition of Members

Members are a general term for all members of the General Chamber of Commerce.

Members are divided into individual members and legal person members.

Members include all personnel at different levels of positions in the General Chamber of Commerce.

 

Conditions for joining

Voluntarily join the General Chamber of Commerce.

Agree and abide by the Articles of Association and relevant regulations of the General Chamber of Commerce.

Comply with the laws and regulations of the UAE and have no criminal record.

 

Procedures for joining the association

2. The Executive Committee of the UAE Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will discuss;

3. After the Executive Committee discusses and approves, the Organization Development Department will transfer the new member information to the Finance Department

4. New members pay membership fees in a timely manner as required

Rights of members

Overview: Individual members are entitled to enjoy the rights under this constitution in accordance with the constitution of the Chamber of Commerce; legal person members are entitled to enjoy the rights under this constitution on behalf of legal person members by their legal representatives.

Business promotion and network establishment: Members can promote their business through the Chamber’s network and resources. This includes listing their business information on the Chamber’s website and opportunities to establish business connections with other members.

Government relations and policy advocacy: The Chamber will reflect the demands of member companies to relevant government departments on behalf of member companies to ensure that the business environment is more conducive to business development. Members can participate in policy formulation and advocacy activities through the Chamber of Commerce.

Professional training and education: The Chamber of Commerce will organize a variety of seminars, workshops and training courses to help members improve their business skills and knowledge.

Social and networking opportunities: Members can participate in various social events and business gatherings to connect with other entrepreneurs, find partners and expand customer relationships.

Resources: The Chamber will provide members with information resources such as market research, business data and business consulting.

Industry information: Members obtain the latest information and trends in the industry to help them make wise business decisions.

Discounts: Enjoy discounts on goods and services provided by Chamber members.

When selecting suppliers for various business and social activities of the Chamber, the Chamber will give priority to products and services provided by member companies.

Voice and representation rights: The Chamber will speak on behalf of members on various issues to ensure that their rights and interests are protected. When members’ legitimate rights and interests are infringed, they can apply to the General Chamber for help.

Positions: Members have the right to hold different positions within the General Chamber.

Election and voting rights: According to the level of their positions in the General Chamber, members enjoy corresponding rights such as the right to vote, the right to be elected, and the right to vote.

Suggestion and supervision rights: Members have the right to make suggestions on the work of the General Chamber and implement supervision.

Membership and withdrawal: Membership is voluntary and withdrawal is free.

 

Obligations of Members

Individual members shall perform their obligations under the Articles of Association in accordance with the Articles of Association of the General Chamber of Commerce; legal person members shall be represented by their legal representatives to perform their obligations under the Articles of Association.

Comply with the Articles of Association of the General Chamber of Commerce and implement the resolutions of the General Chamber of Commerce.

Maintain the legitimate rights and interests of the General Chamber of Commerce.

Assist the General Chamber of Commerce in carrying out relevant affairs and provide convenience, and accept relevant matters entrusted by the General Chamber of Commerce.

Pay membership fees in accordance with regulations.
